Marriage and Babies

All Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Today we celebrate or acknowledge, the One Triune God. A communion of Divine Persons: Father, Son, and Spirit. God exits in a family, and He created us to exist in them too. We need to honor that.
Marriage has fallen on hard times. America passed a grim milestone in the past decade. For the first time in America’s history, more adults in this country are not married than are, and for the last two years, America’s birthrate has dropped below replacement level. See a connection here? Marriage declines, babies decline, the country declines.
Historically this is new territory for America. Since the first native Americans started crossing the Bering Strait a thousand years ago, our population can no longer support itself without immigration. Yet even today’s immigrants are not having enough babies to replace themselves! In fact, the whole world is getting close to not birthing enough babies per year to replace the current population. For some environmentalists this sounds like a dream come true. For a rational thinker, however, the combined decline in marriages and births inevitably represents the collapse of the economic order, law and order, and the death of civilization. Just ask the numerous societies in the history of the world that gave up on marriage and kids.
There is something profoundly different today from the ancient (fill in the blank) peoples, in that (but for Muslims), this phenomenon is on a global scale. China’s birthrate has been below replacement levels for so long that their population actually began to decline in the past year, 30-50 years faster than the “experts” predicted. Population declines have been happening in numerous nations for the past few decades, with others joining their ranks annually. By mid-century, the world could be losing population. America is much closer to losing population than we think, as these things happen slowly then reach a tipping point at which decline happens rapidly (19 + million illegal immigrants leaving at once would do the trick).
So what gives? Why are an ever-greater number of people not getting married at all, delaying marriage, or are married but not having babies or more than just a couple? The answer is simple. The world has rejected God.
The people that run the world’s governments, educational establishments, news media, entertainment media (screen & music), all ignore God. The people that elect those government officials, send their kids to those schools, consume that media and entertainment, do so because they ignore God too. We get what we deserve.
If we want people to be healthy, happy, and holy, then we need to collectively put our screens down, recognize God, respect Him and His plan for us, get married and have babies. It’s super simple, and yet we miss out and ruin ourselves because we miss the most obvious “thing” of all, GOD, and His plan for us – marriage and babies.
