Fidelis Sisterhood

Fidelis forms girls — heart, mind, body, and soul — into a sisterhood of mature, virtuous disciples of Christ through the witness of Catholic women. It’s a sisterhood with chapters at parishes across the United States. Click here to learn more about the mission of Fidelis.

We meet on Wednesday Nights, 6pm-8:15pm, at the Holy Redeemer Sacred Heart building (Green House/Annex)

For all ladies in 6th grade through adults. All women are welcome, you don’t have to have a daughter in the program to participate! Ready to learn more or join? Email Katelyn Greenlee, our Fidelis Lead Lady, to get started.

What happens on a Fidelis Night?

The core structure of a Fidelis Night looks similar to Fraternus Nights (our brother program, for men and young men). We start with dinner at 6pm, a talk or reflection called the King’s Message, and then we divide up in our age-segrated small groups called Family Groups. Adult women who aren’t volunteering that night are encouraged to join our family group for adult women. After discussion, we take a few moments to clean up and then head over to the church to join the men for Night Prayer (Compline). All members of Fidelis receive a book to help guide their reflections and family group conversations throughout the year, as well as including special challenges called Invitations.

What else happens during the year?

We go on a retreat and other various outings! We also have special ceremonies to welcome new members and to mark our progress at the end of the year.

In October we’ll have our Commitment ceremony, where Fidelis Sisters and Ladies commit to themselves, their sisters, and to God that they will commit to pursuing virtue, holiness, and striving to be a loving sister to all present. Fidelis Sisters receive a charm bracelet (or necklace) to hold the medals and charms they earn as members of Fidelis, and 12th graders and adults receive a Miraculous Medal.

In April or May, we have our Accolades ceremony. Sisters receive a virtue charm as their advancement is acknowledged, and 8th graders also receive a St. Benedict Medal to call down God’s blessing and protection as they prepare for high school. Sisters in 12th grade or adults, who have met the necessary requirements for the year, receive a Fidelis Crown in a coronation ceremony. All 12th graders are promoted to the rank of Fidelis Lady at the end of the year.
